Plain-English explanation
The Forest Conservation Program is a statewide California opportunity for nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments undertaking forest conservation, preservation, restoration, or related watershed and habitat work. Strong alignment is evidenced where a project uses named activities—meadow restoration, hazard-fuel reduction thinning, post-fire restoration, or aspen enhancement—or directly advances stated purposes such as forest health, water supply or quality, native habitat, wildfire-danger reduction, flood protection, or riparian and aquatic-resource protection or restoration. Award terms, application requirements, review criteria, and a deadline are not supplied and should be confirmed with the Wildlife Conservation Board.
